Diese Europäische Norm legt Anforderungen für den Umweltschutz bei der Auslegung und der Konstruktion von angebauten, gezogenen und selbst fahrenden Ausleger- und Wurf-Mineraldüngerstreuern fest, die in der Landwirtschaft und im Gartenbau eingesetzt werden. Sie enthält auch die Anforderungen an den Mindestinhalt der Betriebsanleitung. Diese Norm gilt nicht für folgende Maschinen: a) kombinierte Getreide- und Düngerdrillmaschinen; oder b) Geräte zur Ausbringung gekörnter Pflanzenschutzmittel; oder c) Reihendüngerstreuer (die in EN 13740-1:2003 und in EN 13740-2:2003 behandelt werden).
