Durch diese Anforderungen wird sichergestellt, dass Messvorgänge nach einheitlichen Kriterien ausgeführt werden. Sie gilt für neue und umgebaute Drehgestelle mit 3 Radsätzen. Über die Anforderungen dieser Norm hinausgehende Forderungen sind zwischen den Vertragspartnern zu vereinbaren. Die Messvorgänge beziehen sich auf Drehgestelle mit oder ohne An- und Aufbauten in ihrer Gesamtheit oder Teilen davon, wenn die geometrische Gestaltung dies nicht anders zulässt. Die Grenzabmaße gelten jeweils für das fertige Produkt nach prEN 12777.
