Diese Europäische Norm legt die Anforderungen an die Auslegung, Herstellung, Kennzeichnung und Prüfung von Batterie-Fahrzeugen und Gascontainern mit mehreren Elementen (MEGCs) fest, welche Flaschen, Großflaschen oder Flaschenbündel enthalten. Sie gilt für Batterie-Fahrzeuge und MEGCs, die verdichtete oder verflüssigte Gase sowie deren Gemische enthalten. Sie gilt auch für Acetylen-Batterie-Fahrzeuge. Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für Batterie-Fahrzeuge und MEGCs für giftige Gase mit einem LC50-Wert kleiner oder gleich 200 ml/m3. Diese Europäische Norm gilt auch für Batterie-Fahrzeuge und MEGCs, die Flaschenbündel enthalten, welche durch eine Sammelleitung miteinander verbunden sind und die vom Batterie-Fahrzeug demontiert und einzeln befüllt werden. Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für Batterie-Fahrzeuge und MEGCs, die Druckfässer oder Tanks enthalten. Diese Europäische Norm legt keine Anforderungen für das Fahrgestell oder die Antriebseinheit fest. Diese Europäische Norm enthält keine Anforderungen für die Beförderung auf See. Diese Europäische Norm ist in erster Linie für andere Industriegase als Flüssiggas (LPG) vorgesehen. Zum Zeitpunkt der Veröffentlichung dieser Europäischen Norm besteht keine Europäische Norm zu speziell für Flüssiggas (LPG) vorgesehenen Batterie-Fahrzeugen.
