Diese Europäische Norm gilt vorwiegend für Kugelhähne aus Kupferlegierungen und Edelstahl der Nennweiten DN 6 bis DN 100 für Installationen zur Trinkwasserversorgung in Gebäuden bis PN16 und eine höchste Verteilungstemperatur von 65 °C. Zeitweilige Abweichungen bis 90 °C sind für die Dauer von höchstens 1 h zulässig. Die Kugelhähne werden nach ihrem Nenndruck, entweder PN10 oder PN16, klassifiziert. Diese Europäische Norm legt fest: - die Anforderungen an die Werkstoffe und die Konstruktion von Kugelhähnen, - die mechanischen und hydraulischen Anforderungen sowie die Anforderungen an das Geräuschverhalten von Kugelhähnen, - die Prüfverfahren, mit denen die Erfüllung der Anforderungen an Kugelhähne nachgewiesen wird, - die Anforderungen an die Kennzeichnung von Kugelhähnen.
