Diese Europäische Norm legt die Sorten und die entsprechenden Anforderungen für austenitische Gusseisen fest. Diese Anforderungen sind festgelegt in Bezug auf: Graphitform und Grundgefüge: Lamellen- oder Kugelgraphit in einem austenitischen Grundgefüge; chemische Zusammensetzung: entsprechend den Angaben für die jeweilige Sorte und mechanische Eigenschaften: gemessen an mechanisch bearbeiteten Proben, die aus gegossenen Probestücken gewonnen wurden. Diese Norm deckt nicht die technischen Lieferbedingungen für Gusseisen ab, siehe EN 1559-3.
