Diese Norm legt grundlegende Verfahrensabläufe fest, die bei der Anwendung der Röntgenpulverdiffraktometrie zur Anwendung kommen. Viele dieser Verfahrensabläufe sind von allgemeiner Bedeutung sowohl für die Mehrzahl der verschiedenen Diffraktometertypen als auch für die Mehrzahl der verschiedenen Analysenarten, die in EN 13925-1 angeführt sind. Im Interesse der Übersichtlichkeit und der unmittelbaren Anwendbarkeit der Norm konzentriert sich die Darstellung auf Arbeitsabläufe, die typisch sind für die Anwendung von Bragg-Brentano-Diffraktometern in der Phasenidentifizierung.
