Dieses Dokument legt Leitlinien für die Bewertung von Seitenwinden in Bahnanwendungen fest. Dieses Dokument ist anwendbar für alle Personenwagen, Lokomotiven und Triebköpfe (mit einer maximalen Zuggeschwindigkeit von mehr als 140 km/h bis zu 360 km/h) und für Güterwagen (mit einer maximalen Zuggeschwindigkeit von mehr als 80 km/h bis zu 160 km/h) und für Spurweiten von 1 435 mm bis einschließlich 1 668 mm. Für Personenwagen, Lokomotiven und Triebköpfe mit einer maximalen Zuggeschwindigkeit zwischen 250 km/h und 360 km/h ist der Nachweis der Seitenwindstabilität verpflich-tend. Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für Stadtbahnen und städtische Schienenfahrzeuge.
