Diese Europäische Norm legt Prüfverfahren fest für horizontales und vertikales Glas, sofern es Teil eines Möbels ist. Die Prüfverfahren finden in allen Bereichen des privaten und gewerblichen Umfelds Anwendung. Die Prüfverfahren sind bestimmt für die Darstellung menschlicher Kräfte durch Körperteile. Die Norm enthält 5 informative Anhänge, die weitere Hintergrundinformationen für den Gebrauch von Glas in Möbeln liefern. Die Prüfverfahren sind nicht einsetzbar bei Glaseinlegeböden und bei ganzflächig aufliegendem (gestütztem) Glas, einschließlich wandbefestigter Spiegel. Die Norm findet keine Anwendung für die Prüfung und Klassifizierung von Glas, wie es durch die prEN 12600 abgedeckt wird. Die Norm enthält keine Anforderungen.
