Teil 6 dieser Europäischen Norm legt Anforderungen und Baumusterprüfverfahren für VAV-Systeme fest, sowie zusätzliche Anforderungen und Prüfverfahren für die Baumusterprüfung und die Vor-Ort-Prüfung von Abzügen mit variablem Luftstrom. Aufgabe eines VAV-Systems (variable air volume system) ist die Steuerung des Abluftvolumenstroms eines Abzugs bei unterschiedlichen Frontschieberstellungen. Das Ziel dieser Norm ist es, Prüfverfahren für das Leistungsvermögen von Abzügen mit variablem Luftstrom festzulegen, und zwar entweder als separates System oder als Kombination aus Abzug mit VAV-System. Die Norm soll es dem Abnehmer ermöglichen, einen Abzug mit seinen Anforderungen hinsichtlich Rückhaltevermögen, Luftaustauschvermögen etc. nach ÖNORM EN 14175-3 auszuwählen.
