Dieses Dokument legt die Anforderungen an die Oberfläche und die Maßtoleranzen für dekorative melaminbeschichtete Platten zur Verwendung im Innenbereich fest, für die üblicherweise Spanplatten, Strangpressplatten, Faserplatten und Sandwichplatten für Möbel verwendet werden. Dieses Dokument ist nicht anwendbar für Platten, die mit sogenannten Grundierfolien, Finishfolien oder mit Schichtpressstoffplatten nach EN 438-1 und EN 438-2 beschichtet sind. Dieses Dokument ist nicht für Laminatböden anwendbar. Melaminbeschichtete Holzwerkstoffe in Übereinstimmung mit diesem Dokument können als MFB bezeichnet werden.
