Diese Europäische Norm legt Begriffe und Eigenschaften für durch Strangpress- und Trockenpresstechniken hergestellte keramische Fliesen und Platten zur Anwendung in Innen- und/oder Außenbereichen für Boden- (einschließlich Treppen) und Wandbeläge fest, einschließlich Mosaiken (d. h. alle Teile, die in eine quadratische Fläche von 49 cm˛ passen). Darüber hinaus legt sie den Grad der Anforderungen an diese Eigenschaften sowie Verweisungen auf die angewendeten Prüfverfahren fest und enthält Festlegungen zur Bewertung und Überprüfung der Leistungsbeständigkeit. Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für: - Mesh-Backed-Produkte; - keramisches dekoratives Zubehör oder Verzierungen (wie Kanten, Ecken, Sockel, Wölbungen, Kehlungen, Bördelränder, gekrümmte Fliesen/Platten und weiteres Zubehör); - keramische Fliesen und Platten, die durch andere Techniken als Strangpressen oder Trockenpressen hergestellt wurden; - trockengepresste unglasierte keramische Fliesen und Platten mit einer Wasseraufnahme von mehr als 10 %; - keramische Fliesen und Platten für Fahrbahnbeläge im Außenbereich; - keramische Fliesen und Platten für Deckenbekleidungen oder abgehängte Decken.
