Die Festlegungen gelten für Naturzug-Nasskühltürme, für Naturzugkühltürme mit Ventilatorunterstützung, für Nass-/Trockenkühltürme und - mit Ausnahme von Serienkühltürmen - auch für zwangsbelüftete Kühltürme. Es werden Prüfverfahren, die erforderlichen Prüfgeräte, Fehlergrenzen und das Verfahren zur Auswertung der Ergebnisse festgelegt.
