Diese Europäische Norm gilt für die Planung, Ausführung, Prüfung und Kontrolle der Baugrundverbesserung durch das Tiefenrüttelverfahren Es werden die Tiefenrüttelverdichtung zur Verdichtung des anstehenden Baugrundes und Rüttelsteinsäulen als Arten der Baugrundverbesserung behandelt. Weiters werden Baugrund-Verbesserungsverfahren mit Tiefenrüttler und mit Höhenrüttler mit Verdichtungssonden beschrieben. Andere Verfahren, etwa die dynamische Verdichtung oder die Sprengverdichtung, sind in dieser Norm nicht enthalten.
