Diese Europäische Norm gilt für Anforderungen an Navigationsleuchten und deren Prüfung: a) für Fahrzeugen der Binnen- und Seeschifffahrt; b) für Sportboote von 20 m und darüber; c) für Sportboote unter 20 m, die auch die CEVNI-Regeln erfüllen sollen. Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für Navigationsleuchten auf Sportbooten von weniger als 20 m Länge nur im Geltungsbereich der COLREGs. Diese Norm spezifiziert Anforderungen an Navigationsleuchten, die in Regelwerken genannt sind, siehe Literaturhinweise.
