Diese Europäische Norm gilt für Mehrzonen-Spülmaschinen mit angetriebenem durchlaufendem Modulband oder einer Kasten-Fördereinrichtung. Bei Modulbandmaschinen gehören die Belade- und Entladebereiche zur Maschine. Die von dieser Norm betroffenen Maschinen sind zum Waschen, Spülen und optionalen Trocknen von Geschirr und Küchenutensilien, die in Nahrungsmittel- und Cateringunternehmen, wie z. B. Restaurants, Hotels usw., eingesetzt werden, vorgesehen. Die Europäische Norm ist für Spülmaschinen mit Fördereinrichtungen mit einer linearen Geschwindigkeit des Geschirrs und der Küchenutensilien von kleiner gleich 5 m/min anwendbar.
