Diese Europäische Norm definiert die technischen Anforderungen, die Verifizierung und den Prüfvorgang für die Anzeigen (LLMI) und das Kontrollsystem (LLMC) für das Lastmoment in Längsrichtung für die Vorwärtsfahrtrichtung von motorkraftbetriebenen Flurförderzeugen mit veränderlicher Reichweite nach EN 1459. Diese Europäische Norm vervollständigt die Anforderungen des Abschnittes 5.8.4 Standsicherheit in Längsrichtung von EN 1459:1998. Die LLMI wird in EN 1459 mit den Worten Sicherheitswarneinrichtung in Längsrichtung bezeichnet. Diese Europäische Norm beschreibt LLMI- und LLMC-Einrichtungen für stillstehende Flurförderzeuge, die Lade- oder Absetzvorgänge auf befestigtem, stabilem und ebenem Boden ausführen. Diese Europäische Norm behandelt nicht die Gefahr der seitlichen Instabilität oder der Instabilität durch die Fahrbewegung des Flurförderzeuges. LLMI und LLMC sind nicht dafür vorgesehen, vor der Gefahr des Umstürzens zu warnen, während das Flurförderzeug fährt.
