Diese Europäische Norm ist eine Produktnorm, die Mindestfunktionsanforderungen an Sicherheitsaugenduschen ohne Wasseranschluss festlegt. In dieser Norm werden "Sicherheitsaugenduschen ohne Wasseranschluss" abgekürzt als "Augenduschen" bezeichnet. Es sind zusätzlich Anforderungen hinsichtlich der Beschriftung, Kennzeichnung und an die vom Hersteller zur Verfügung zu stellenden Informationen festgelegt. Die Norm gilt für Augenduschen, die seitens des Herstellers mit Spülflüssigkeit befüllt sind und für leere Geräte, die erst vor Inbetriebnahme befüllt werden. Beide Gerätearten dienen der Erste-Hilfe-Versorgung, wenn die Augen schädlichen Substanzen ausgesetzt waren.
