Diese Europäische Norm legt Verfahren und Zulässigkeitsgrenzen zur Beurteilung der Leistungsfähigkeit von Geräten zur Dickenmessung mit Ultraschall nach dem Impuls-Echo-Verfahren fest. In dieser Europäischen Norm werden Prüfgeräte erfasst, die sowohl den gemessenen Wert direkt (digital) anzeigen, als auch die Wellenform darstellen können und dabei Prüfköpfe mit einem Wandler oder SE-Prüfköpfe benutzen. Diese Europäische Norm darf zur Verifizierung der in EN 12668-1, EN 12668-2 und EN 12668-3 erfassten Prüfausrüstung angewendet werden, wenn sie zur Dickenmessung eingesetzt wird.
