Dieses Dokument gilt für Maschinen zur Oberflächenreinigung zum Einsatz im Außenbereich auf öffentlichen Verkehrsflächen, Straßen, Flughäfen und Industrieanlagen. Reinigungsmaschinen im Winterdienst und zur Innenreinigung fallen nicht unter den Anwendungsbereich dieser Europäischen Norm. Oberflächenreinigungsmaschinen im Sinne dieser Norm sind zum einen selbst fahrende, auf Lkw-Fahrgestellen aufgebaute oder angebaute Kehrmaschinen, aber auch von Fußgängern geführte Maschinen. Dieses Dokument behandelt die Klassifizierung von Kehrmaschinen und deren Leistungsbeschreibungen bei ihrem bestimmungsgemäßen unter den vom Hersteller vorhersehbaren Einsatzbedingungen.
