Dieses Dokument legt ein Laborverfahren zum Bestimmen der bioziden/biostatischen Wirksamkeit von Wirkstoffen oder einer Kombination aus mehreren Wirkstoffen zur Anwendung in Filmkonservierungsmitteln in Beschichtungen gegen Algenbewuchs fest. Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für Beschichtungen, die unempfindlich gegen Algenbewuchs sind. Das Prüfverfahren deckt nur die Wirkstoffe zur Filmkonservierung der Beschichtung ab, nicht zum Schutz des Substrats, z. B. Holz. Dieser wird in einer anderen Norm behandelt. Das Prüfverfahren ist anwendbar für Wirkstoffe, die in Beschichtungen für den Schutz von Holz und für mineralische Substrate verwendet werden. Die Norm gilt nicht für Beschichtungen im maritimen Bereich. Sicherheits-, Gesundheits- und Umweltaspekte liegen nicht im Anwendungsbereich dieses Dokuments. Die Bestimmung der Wirksamkeit von Filmkonservierungsmitteln in Beschichtungen nach Anwendung von Alterungsverfahren liegt nicht im Anwendungsbereich dieses Dokuments.
