Dieser Teil von EN 15534 legt die Eigenschaften von Zaunprofilen und -elementen aus cellulosehaltigen Materialien und Thermoplasten, üblicherweise Holz-Polymer-Werkstoffe (WPC, en: wood-polymer composites) oder Naturfaserverbundwerkstoffe (NFC, en: natural fibre composites) genannt, fest. Er gilt für Zaunprofile und -elemente für nichttragende Zaunsysteme. Sicherheitssysteme, Grundstücksschutz, Handläufe und lasttragende Anwendungen liegen außerhalb des Anwendungsbereiches dieses Teils von EN 15534. Für Systeme aus Profilen, die innerhalb des Anwendungsbereiches dieses Teils von EN 15534 liegen, die Vorschriften unterliegen, ist der Lieferant des Zaunsystems verantwortlich. In EN 15534-1 sind einige der Prüfverfahren festgelegt, die für diesen Teil von EN 15534 relevant sind.
