Diese Europäische Norm legt Definitionen für und Anforderungen an nicht tragende, elastische Fugen-dichtstoffe für die Abdichtung von Verglasungen im Hochbau fest. Sie erfasst Verglasungsfugen ab einem Winkel von 7° zur Horizontalen. Die Hauptbereiche, in denen diese Fugendichtstoffe eingesetzt werden, sind: - Glas an Glas; - Glas an Rahmen; - Glas an porösen Trägermaterialien. Anwendungen für Aquarien, tragende Verbindungen/Verglasungen, innere und äußere Abdichtungen von vorgefertigten Isolierglaseinheiten, horizontale Verglasungen (mit einer Neigung von weniger als 7°) und Verglasungen aus organischem Material (z. B. Polycarbonat, PMMA usw.) fallen nicht in den Anwendungsbereich dieser Europäischen Norm.
