Es beschreibt die Eigenschaften von Filtermaterialien und legt die Anforderungen sowie die entsprechenden Prüfverfahren für Filtermaterialien fest. Es enthält Angaben zu deren Anwendung in der Aufbereitung von Schwimm- und Badebeckenwasser. Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für pulverförmige Kieselgur, Perlit, Zeolith und ähnliche Materialien, die in Filterkartuschen eingesetzt werden.
