Ein Explosionsschlot wird zum Ableiten oder Umlenken von sich in Rohrleitungen ausbreitenden Explosionen verwendet, wodurch eine Flammenstrahlzündung und Vorkompressionseffekte in angeschlossenen geschützten Behältern verhindert wird. Er reduziert das Risiko einer Flammenübertragung. Diese Europäische Norm beschreibt die grundlegende konstruktive Ausführung eines Rohr-in-Rohr-Explosionsschlotes, und sie legt die Prüfanforderungen und die Anwendbarkeit von Explosionsschloten fest. In dieser Norm sind festgelegt: - ein Prüfverfahren zur Bewertung der Wirksamkeit von Explosionsschloten; - Konstruktionsvorschriften für einen Typ eines Rohr-in-Rohr-Explosionsschlotes; - Anforderungen an die Druckentlastungseinrichtung auf dem Explosionsschlot; - Installationsanforderungen; - Wartungsanforderungen; - Kennzeichnung. Diese Europäische Norm gilt nur für explosionsfähige Staub/Luft-Gemische.
