Diese Europäische Norm gilt für die Kappe, die als Schutzeinrichtung und Endverschluss für VK-Kupplungen zur Untenbefüllung und -entladung von Tanks für die Beförderung gefährlicher Güter dient, und legt die Leistungsanforderungen, kritischen Abmessungen und Prüfungen fest, die zur Verifizierung notwendig sind, ob die Ausrüstung mit der vorliegenden Europäischen Norm übereinstimmt. Die in dieser Europäischen Norm festgelegte Ausrüstung ist zum Umfüllen flüssiger Erdölerzeugnisse und anderer gefährlicher Güter der Klasse 3 des ADR1) (entflammbare Flüssigkeiten) geeignet, deren Dampfdruck bei 50 °C höchstens 110 kPa beträgt (einschließlich Ottokraftstoff) und die nicht als giftig oder ätzend eingestuft sind.
