Sie gilt für Eisenbahnfahrzeuge, die mit einem Wasserhahn zur Verwendung in Toiletten, Wascheinrichtungen, Wasserspendern und in Küchenbereichen ausgestattet sind, sowie für bestimmte Servicestellen der Eisenbahninfrastruktur. Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für die Befüllung von Eisenbahnfahrzeugen mit Wasser zur Motorkühlung, Beheizung mittels Dampf oder für Arbeitsgeräte von Gleisbaumaschinen.
