Diese Europäische Norm ist für tragbare Röntgenfluoreszenzgeräte (RFA-Geräte) (handgehaltene Geräte oder tragbare Tischgeräte) für den Feldeinsatz bestimmt und legt ein Screening-Verfahren zur Bestimmung der elementaren Zusammensetzung von Abfällen bei der Vor-Ort-Prüfung fest. Tragbare Röntgenfluoreszenzspektrometer (RFA-Spektrometer) werden zur schnellen und orientierenden Untersuchung von pastösen oder festen Materialien eingesetzt.
