Diese Europäische Norm gilt für Spielfeldtore, die zu Wettkampf-, Trainings- oder Freizeitzwecken genutzt und in Innen- und Außenbereichen einschließlich Bildungseinrichtungen und öffentlichen Freizeitbereichen verwendet werden. Sie legt die funktionalen und sicherheitstechnischen Anforderungen sowie Prüfverfahren für alle ortsveränderlichen und standortgebundenen Tore mit einem Gesamtgewicht von mehr als 10 kg mit der Ausnahme von Torgrößen 5,00 m × 2,00 m und 7,32 m × 2,44 m mit einem Gewicht > 42 kg, welche in EN 748 enthalten sind, fest. Diese Norm ist auch nicht anwendbar auf die folgenden Tore nach: a) EN 748 (Fußball); b) EN 749 (Handball); c) EN 750 (Hockey); d) EN 1270 (Basketball) sowie andere für Basketball verwendete Tore; e) EN 15312 (frei zugängliche Multisportgeräte); f) EN 13451-7 (Wasserpolo); g) EN 16664 (Leichtgewicht-Tore). Diese Norm gilt nicht für: h) aufblasbare Tore; i) Tore, die unter der Zuständigkeit von CEN/TC 52 als Spielzeug eingestuft sind; j) ortsveränderliche und standortgebundene Spielfeldtore beim American Football; k) Tore, die bei der Verwendung beweglich sein sollen (z. B. Lacrosse, Rink-Hockey und Rollhockey).
