Diese Europäische Norm legt ein Prüfverfahren zur Bestimmung der Neigung (Fähigkeit) eines Bauprodukts fest, kontinuierlich zu schwelen, wenn es unter dem Einfluss eines natürlichen Konvektionsluftstroms einer offenen Flamme ausgesetzt ist. Die Norm gilt für alle Bauprodukte, die nach EN 13501-1 klassifiziert werden. Einzelheiten dazu, wie die Bauprodukte für diese Prüfung montiert und angebracht werden, werden in der jeweiligen Produktnorm angegeben. Der Anwendungsbereich der Prüfergebnisse ist in der Produktnorm festgelegt.
