Dieser Teil der EN 16806 legt ein Prüfverfahren zur Bestimmung der Wärmespeicherungs- und Wärmefreisetzungskapazität und der Phasenänderungstemperaturen von textilen Fasern, Garnen und Flächengebilden (Gewebe und Maschenwaren, Vliesstoffe), die Phasenwechselmaterialien (PCM) enthalten fest. Das Prüfverfahren kann auch für reine oder mikroverkapselte PCM angewendet werden. Dieser Teil der EN 16806 gilt nicht für die Bestimmung der Wärmeübertragungseigenschaften textiler Flächengebilde (Gewebe und Maschenwaren, Vliesstoffe), die Phasenwechselmaterialien enthalten und für die Teil 2 der EN 16806 gilt. Dieser Teil der EN 16806 gilt nicht für die Bestimmung der Wärmeübertragung zwischen dem Anwender und dem Produkt bei Textilerzeugnissen, z. B. Kleidungsstücke, Matratzen usw., die unter Verwendung von PCM-enthaltender Materialien hergestellt wurden und für die Teil 3 der EN 16806 gilt.
