Diese Europäische Norm legt die spezifischen Anforderungen an die ZfP von Radsätzen fest, für: - Instandhaltung im Betrieb; - Instandhaltung im ausgebauten Zustand; - ZfP-Personal; - ZfP-Dokumentation (Verfahren und Anweisung); - Rückverfolgbarkeit der ZfP-Ergebnisse in der Instandhaltung. Sie gibt Anleitungen für die Einführung neuer ZfP-Techniken. In dieser Norm werden folgende ZfP-Verfahren berücksichtigt: - Ultraschallprüfung (en: Ultrasonic testing, UT); - Magnetpulverprüfung (en: Magnetic particle testing, MT); - Wirbelstromprüfung (en: Eddy Current testing, ET). Andere in EN ISO 9712:2012 genannte Verfahren liegen außerhalb des Anwendungsbereichs dieser Norm. Zu diesem Zweck ist ein Katalog der häufigsten Fehler als Orientierungshilfe gegeben. Beispiele üblicher ZfP-Anzeigen sind in einem informativen Anhang zu finden. Spezifische ZfP-Anforderungen an die Qualität neuer Produkte, die durch die Hersteller geliefert werden, liegen außerhalb des Anwendungsbereichs dieser Norm.
