Das Ziel ist, auf einfache und schnelle Weise reproduzierbare und für die Praxis verwendbare Werte zu liefern. Die Messergebnisse können eine vergleichende Bewertung von Fördergurten ermöglichen und zur Auslegung von Gurtförderern mit Stahlseil- und Textilfördergurten herangezogen werden. Diese Europäische Norm ist nicht geeignet für leichte Fördergurte, die in EN ISO 21183-1 beschrieben sind.
