In dieser Norm werden Sicherheitsgrundsätze im Bereich Brandverhütung und Brandbekämpfung für Planung, betriebs- und wartungstechnische Erfordernisse der Seilbahnanlagen, sowie Anweisungen für Betrieb und Instandhaltung festgelegt. Dieses Dokument vervollständigt die bereits vorhandenen und im Vorwort aufgeführten Normen ausschließlich um Aspekte der Brandverhütung und -bekämpfung. Diese Norm gilt weder für Seilbahnen des Güterverkehrs noch für Aufzüge.
