Diese Europäische Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung des Einflusses wasserlöslicher Bestandteile aus rezyklierten Gesteinskörnungen auf die anfängliche Erstarrungszeit des Zements fest. Ein Verfahren für natürliche Gesteinskörnungen wird in EN 1744-1:1998, 15.3, beschrieben. Dieses Verfahren dient dazu, die Wirkungen organischer Verunreinigungen darzustellen und zu quantifizieren. Für rezyklierte Gesteinskörnungen ist dieses Verfahren ungeeignet, da auch anorganische Verunreinigungen vorhanden sein können.
