Dieses Dokument definiert die Grundlagen und die Verfahren zur Bestimmung des "Zertrümmerbarkeitskoeffizienten" von Felsmaterial. Der Zertrümmerbarkeitskoeffizient IFR unterscheidet das Verhalten bestimmter Felsmaterialien und wird verwendet, um die Änderungen der Korngröße ab dem Zeitpunkt des Lösens des Materials bis zum folgenden Einbau und in bestimmten Fällen während der gesamten Einsatzdauer darzustellen. Veränderungen der Korngröße treten auf, da der Fels aufgrund seiner Strukturfestigkeit nicht die mechanische Belastung aushalten kann, der er während des Einbaus und der Verwendung ausgesetzt ist.
