Es ist anwendbar für Produkte, die aufgrund ihrer Flexibilität nicht reißen, wenn sie zwischen die Klemmen einer Zugprüfmaschine gespannt werden. Das Verfahren ermöglicht den Vergleich von Proben unterschiedlicher Produkte unter der Voraussetzung, dass sich deren Dicke um nicht mehr als 10 % unterscheidet.
