Diese ÖNORM legt ein Verfahren fest, um fetthaltige Lebensmittel, die mit ionisierenden Strahlen behandelt wurden, durch Massenspektrometrie (MS) strahlenreduzierter 2-Alkylcyclobutanone nach gaschromatographischer Trennung (GC) zu identifizieren. Das Verfahren wurde in Ringversuchen erfolgreich an rohem Hühnerfleisch, Schweinefleisch, flüssigem Vollei, Lachs und Camembert geprüft. Andere Untersuchungen haben gezeigt, dass das Verfahren für viele andere Lebensmittel anwendbar ist.
