Diese Europäische Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Dicke und der flächenbezogenen Masse von Bitumenbahnen für Dachabdichtungen fest. Die Messung der Dicke gilt für die meisten Bitumenbahnen, einschließlich solcher mit werkmäßig aufgebrachter Bestreuung. Die Dickenbestimmung gilt nicht für Bahnen mit ausgeprägter Texturierung der Oberfläche oder für Bahnen mit starker Faserkaschierung. Wo erforderlich, ist statt dessen zur Charkterisierung die flächenbezogene Masse heranzuziehen. Die Bestimmung der flächenbezogenen Masse dient der Überprüfung des Wertes, den der Hersteller angibt. Sie gilt nicht für perforierte Bitumenbahnen.
