Behandelt sind Textilseile in Kernmantelkonstruktion mit geringer Dehnung mit einem Durchmesser von bis zu 12 mm, zur Benutzung bei durch Seile gesicherten Arbeiten einschließlich aller Arten des Haltens und Rückhaltens; zur Seilrettung und in der Höhlenforschung. Es werden Anforderungen, Prüfungen, Kennzeichnung und Herstellerinformationen einschließlich Gebrauchsanleitung zur Benutzung solcher Kernmantelseile mit geringer Dehnung festgelegt. Seile zum Schutz beim Klettern im angeseilten Zustand, bei Seilrettung oder Höhlenforschung sollten prEN 892 entsprechen. Dynamische Bergseile können ebenfalls zum Schutz bei durch Seil gesicherten Arbeiten und in Haltesituationen benutzt werden.
