Diese Europäische Norm legt Anforderungen an und Prüfverfahren für formstabile Schläuche fest, die bei Feuerlöschfahrzeugen und Anhängerpumpen eingesetzt werden. Die Schläuche sind für den Einsatz bei einem maximalen Arbeitsdruck für Normaldruckschläuche (Kategorie I) von 1,5 MPa und 4,0 MPa für Hochdruckschläuche (Kategorie II) vorgesehen. Die Schläuche werden weiter in Typen und Klassen unterteilt (siehe Abschnitt 4). Diese Europäische Norm gilt für Schläuche für die Brandbekämpfung, die für einen Einsatz bei Umgebungsbedingungen innerhalb des Temperaturbereichs von -20 °C bis +60 °C vorgesehen sind.
