Diese Europäische Norm beschreibt ein Verfahren zur Messung der Hydratationswärme von Zementen mit Hilfe der teiladiabatischen Kalorimetrie, das so genannte Langavant-Verfahren. Ziel dieser Prüfung ist die kontinuierliche Messung der Hydratationswärme von Zement während der ersten Tage. Die Hydratationswärme wird in Joule je Gramm Zement angegeben. Diese Europäische Norm ist anwendbar für alle hydraulischen Bindemittel, ungeachtet ihrer chemischen Zusammensetzung, mit Ausnahme von schnell erstarrenden Zementen.
