Die ÖNORM EN 1993-1-12 ist in Österreich nur zusammen mit dem nationalen Anhang ÖNORM B 1993-1-12 (in Vorbereitung) anzuwenden. Diese ÖNORM enthält Regeln, die im Zusammenhang mit den folgenden Teilen angewendet werden können, um die Bemessung von Stahlbauten mit Stahlsorten über S 460 bis S 700 ermöglichen: EN 1993-1-1, EN 1993-1-2, EN 1993-1-3, EN 1993-1-4, EN 1993-1-5, EN 1993-1-6, EN 1993-1-7, EN 1993-1-8, EN 1993-1-9, EN 1993-1-10, EN 1993-1-11. In den Fällen, in denen es erforderlich ist, eine in einem anderen Teil angegebene Regel zu ändern, um die Verwendung von Stahlsorten bis S 700 zu ermöglichen, wird die hierzu notwendige Vorgehensweise angegeben. Die Änderungen erfolgen entweder in Form einer Anmerkung, dass die jeweilige Regel nicht für Stahlsorten über S 460 gilt, mit anschließender Angabe der erforderlichen Regel oder durch Festlegung einer zusätzlichen Regel bzw. zusätzlicher Regeln.
