Dieser Teil der Normenreihe EN 20 legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der vorbeugenden Wirkung oder der Grenze der Wirksamkeit eines Holzschutzmittels gegen Befall durch Lyctus brunneus (Stephens) fest, bei dem das Schutzmittel durch Volltränkung in das Holz eingebracht wird. Das Verfahren ist anwendbar für - nicht wasserlösliche chemische Erzeugnisse, die als insektizide Wirkstoffe untersucht werden, oder - organische Formulierungen im Anlieferungszustand oder in der Form, wie sie im Labor durch Verdünnung von Konzentraten hergestellt werden. Das Verfahren ist für wasserbasierte Schutzmittel anwendbar.
