Für Abmessungen ohne Toleranzangabe sind die Allgemeintoleranzen für Längen- und Winkelmaße im Nennmaßbereich bis 4000 mm in vier Toleranzklassen festgelegt. Für Nennmaße über 4000 mm bis 25000 mm ist ÖNORM M 1365 Teil 1 anzuwenden. Im nationalen Vorwort sind die Änderungen gegenüber der bisherigen ÖNORM M 1365, November 1979 angeführt. Der Anwendungsbereich umfaßt metallische und nichtmetallische Formelemente, die durch Spanen oder Umformen gefertigt wurden. Allgemeintoleranzen erfassen die örtlichen Istmaße, nicht jedoch die Formabweichungen von Formelementen. Die Toleranzwerte der Genauigkeitsklassen sind für die entsprechenden Nennmaßbereiche festgelegt. Im Anhang ist ein Konzept zur Anwendung angeführt. Im nationalen Anhang sind die einschlägigen österreichischen Normen aufgelistet.
