Diese Norm legt die Eigenschaften von Gelenklagern aus Stahl mit Einführnuten, mit oder ohne Schmierl öcher und Schmiernuten fest, die für die Verwendung in starren oder beweglichen Flugwerkteilen und deren Betätigungsmechanismen bestimmt sind. Sie sind im Temperaturbereich von 54 °C bis 150 °C verwendbar. Da sie jedoch mit folgenden Fetten geschmiert werden (siehe EN 2337): Hochdruckfett auf Esterbasis (Kennbuchstabe A), Betriebstemperaturbereich 73 °C bis 121 °C, oder Hochdruckfett auf der Basis von synthetischen Kohlenwasserstoffen zur allgemeinen Verwendung (Kennbuchstabe B), Betriebstemperaturbereich 54 °C bis 177 °C, ist ihr Anwendungsbereich bei Schmierung mit Fett A auf 121 °C eingeschränkt.
