Diese Norm legt die Eigenschaften von UV-Laser-bedruckbaren, ein- und mehradrigen geschirmten (Umseilung) und ummantelten elektrischen Leitungen zur Verwendung in Bordnetzen von Luftfahrzeugen bei Betriebstemperaturen zwischen -55 °C und 260 °C fest. Es muss auch möglich sein, diese Leitungen mittels Heißprägung oder Tintenstrahlbedruckung zu kennzeichnen. Diese Kennzeichnungen müssen EN 3838 entsprechen.
