Diese Norm legt die Eigenschaften von UV-Laser-bedruckbaren, fünf- bis siebenadrigen, geschirmten (umseilten) und ummantelten, leichten elektrischen Leitungen der DM-Familie zur Verwendung in Bordnetzen von Luftfahrzeugen bei Betriebstemperaturen zwischen -55 °C und 260 °C fest. Es können aber auch, falls erforderlich, -65 °C verwendet werden, wie die Kälteprüfung zeigt. Es muss auch möglich sein, diese Leitungen mit einer qualifizierten, verträglichen Kennzeichnung zu versehen. Diese Kennzeichnungen müssen den Anforderungen von EN 3838 entsprechen.
