Diese Europäische Norm legt die wesentlichen Sicherheitsanforderungen an Formpressen und Spritzpressen zum Herstellen von Formteilen aus Kunststoff und/oder Gummi mit einer Schließbewegung von mehr als 6 mm fest. In diesem Dokument wird eine oben beschriebene Formpresse oder Spritzpresse mit dem Begriff "Presse" benannt (siehe 3.1). Diese Europäische Norm behandelt alle signifikanten Gefährdungen, Gefährdungssituationen und Ereignisse, die für Pressen relevant sind, wenn sie bestimmungsgemäß und unter Bedingungen, die vom Hersteller als Fehlanwendung vernünftigerweise vorhersehbar sind, verwendet werden (siehe Abschnitt 4).
