Diese ÖNORM gibt Definitionen und eine Klassifizierung für Platten aus langen, schlanken, ausgerichteten Spänen (OSB) und legt Anforderungen an diese Platten fest. Die in dieser ÖNORM angegebenen Werte beziehen sich auf Produkteigenschaften, es sind keine charakteristischen Werte zur Verwendung für konstruktive Berechnungen. Prüfverfahren zur Bestimmung mechanischer Eigenschaften für tragende Zwecke sind in ÖNORM EN 789 angegeben. Die Bestimmung der chrakteristischen Werte der mechanischen Eigenschaften und der Rohdichte für tragende Zwecke enthält ÖNORM EN 1058. Chrakteristische Werte zur Berechnung und Bemessung für OSB sind in ÖNORM EN 12369-1 angegeben. Diese ÖNORM enthält im Anhang C zusätzliche Informationen über weitere Eigenschaften.
