Es legt für die Integration der aktiven Geräuschkompensation Anforderungen hinsichtlich Konstruktion, Gestaltung, Leistung, Kennzeichnung und Benutzerinformationen fest. Kapselgehörschützer mit aktiver Geräuschkompensation haben die Aufgabe, mit Hilfe einer das Geräusch "auslöschenden" Schaltung eine zusätzliche Schalldämmung der Umgebungsgeräusche zu bewirken. Diese zusätzliche Schalldämmung wird üblicherweise für tiefe und mittlere Frequenzen bereitgestellt. Sie sind für den Einsatz in tieffrequentem Lärm mit hohen Schallpegeln geeignet.
